I am always curious as to what people are happy with. It seems we are made to consume, consume, and consume some more. We never seem to be happy with what we have.

I want to hear from some of you guys.
What goals do you have?
What are you trying to accomplish starting from where you are now?
Do you consider yourself successful?
If not, what needs to be done to consider yourself to have succeeded?

Thanks for your comments.

Success means I have the freedom to do what I want when I want as oppose to having to do it.

    My goals for 2009:
    1. Invest $15,500 in 401(k)
    2. Invest $15,000
    3. Contribute $12,000 to Son 1 529
    4. Contribute $6,000 to Son 2 529
    5. Extra $36,000 to mortgage
    6. Rebalance portfolio

I did think I was successful when I got my masters degree...have not felt that pride since..Home ownership is what I am working towards now..and I will only feel I have achieved that after I have successfully proven I can handle the home financially and responsibly...so that might be a long term goal.

I feel like I will be free when my CCs are paid off. One is at $860 and the other is at $5,000. Problem is, that damn $5,000 one never seems to go down.

My goals are to live a happy life and I do. I have good health, a wonderful husband and a sweet dog. There is nothing else in life that I need or want.
